Office Policies
Emergencies
We are proud to offer around-the-clock emergency care. We take emergency calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year! Additionally, we always reserve certain times during our weekday schedule to help patients with emergencies.
Scheduling
We ask that you always schedule your next visit before leaving the office to ensure you get a day and time that works well for you.
Cancellations
We realize that occasionally you may overlook an appointment or need to change an appointment time. We will do our best to reschedule your appointment as soon as possible.
We encourage you to keep scheduled appointments because it benefits your treatment progress. Missed appointments or numerous appointment changes will only delay treatment and extend your total treatment time.
Maintenance
Once you begin orthodontic treatment, we ask that you follow a few easy steps to ensure the best result possible:
- Brush and floss: We recommend brushing after every meal or snack and flossing at least once every day.
- Cut certain foods from your diet: It’s best to avoid hard, sticky, crunchy, and chewy foods during treatment to help prevent appliance breakage. Examples include—but are not limited to—candy, gum, mints, bagels, pizza crust, pretzels, chips, and nuts. Additionally, sugary and acidic foods and beverages should also be avoided to help prevent decalcification and the formation of white spots on your teeth.
- Visit your dentist: Go for a cleaning and check-up every 4 to 6 months—or more frequently if recommended.
- Avoid frequent missed appointments and cancellations: Having to reschedule appointments too often will only extend your treatment time.
